F2 Error Code - Troubleshooting

What is the F2 error code on your hot tub and what to look for to fix it and return your hot tub to a working condition. The F2 error code is usually from a balboa power pack system and normally is referring to a flow issue in your hot tub.

There are a few things you can look for when trouble shooting an F2 error code on your hot tub.

  1. First it is always a good idea to cut the power to the unit and let it cool down and then reset it. Sometimes this is all it will take to regain normal operation.
  2. Next on the list is to see if there is anything that is impeding the flow of water through your hot tub. A dirty filter can often be the culprit here so make sure to either replace or give your hot tub filter a good cleaning. Look at your intakes and out takes and make sure they are clear of debris.
  3. Air bubbles can also lead to water flow restrictions. You need to try and release any air bubbles in your circulation try cracking a seal in a union to release the air or you can also force water through intakes or returns with a hose to release air locks.
  4. Lastly, you may have to replace a fuse, heating element, or a circuit board if all other trouble shooting does not fix your error.
